Fianna Fáil's Cllr Damien Ryan wants to see an enterprise hub developed in south Mayo in the near future.
Ryan, who is running to retain his seat in the Claremorris electoral area, stated: "I am hugely committed to the development of an enterprise hub in south Mayo. I believe with all agencies working together we can put this region on the economic map. With the M18 motorway now coming to Tuam and proposals underway to improve the R322 from Kilmaine to Tuam, this region looks even more attractive on the enterprise front.
"I believe the securing of land and development of an enterprise park has the potential to attract inward investment and create huge opportunities for employment. I will do all in my power to bring together the various agencies and departments to see this through and make our region reach its full potential."
