Lion’s Club Winter Wine Fair draws near

The Winter Wine Fair Kilkenny takes place in the Newpark Hotel on November 18, in aid of the Lions Club Kilkenny.

This year’s Wine Fair, marking 13 years of extremely successful fundraising for this valued community charity by the Wine Centre Kilkenny, is set to be the best year yet, with extra special guests including Mary Gaynor (Wine Academy Ireland ) and Helen Finnegan from award-winning Knockdrinna Farmhouse Cheese adding sparkle and expertise to the evening.

John O’ Regan of the Lion’s Club emphasised the vital contribution the wine fair makes to Lions Club funds.

“The Winter Wine Fair funds go directly to the Christmas Hamper Appeal, it’s a very needy cause this year and we hope everyone can come out and support this fun social event.”

The Winter Wine Fair starts at 7pm in the Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny with a mulled wine reception, followed by an opportunity to sample old and new world wines, premium whiskeys from the Cooley distillery and hearty beers from the Waterford-based Dungarvan Brewing Co. The excellent Three Notes barber shop singers will keep us entertained for the evening and Mary Gaynor will provide top wine tasting tips for the Christmas season. All of this along with tasty nibbles from Knockdrinna Cheeses and a terrific raffle!

Tickets for The Winter Wine Fair are available directly from the Wine Centre at 15 John Street Kilkenny 056 7722907. Tickets are priced at €15 and all money raised goes to the Lion’s Club Kilkenny. For more visit the www.facebook.com/thewinecentrekilkenny
