Castlecomer Enterprise Board is hosting its fourth craft and trade fair on the weekend of October 16 and celebrity TD George Lee is to open the event.
This is the perfect opportunity to find those early Christmas presents as there will be over 40 stands with all kinds of great gift ideas. From hand made craft items such as pottery and lamps to wood turning and interior decorating, there will be something for everyone.
The event is being run by the Enterprise group in Castlecomer as a way of helping small businesses display what they have to offer and hopefully find regular business.
The chairperson of the organising committee, Patricia Owens who spoke to “The Advertiser” said, “the event is a shop window for small businesses in the local Castlecomer jurisdiction and it is very beneficial and important to establish small business for everyone in the local community, especially in these times.”
She also said, “judging by previous years, where we had a great turn-out, I expect that this will also be a great and festive occasion for all involved.”
Throughout the weekend there will also be seminars taking place. Talks will be given by various businesses and entrepreneurs from varying backgrounds.
The official opening of the fair will take place on Friday 16, by TD George Lee, former economist with RTE at 7pm
The fair will be open from 10am -9pm on Saturday and from 10am - 6pm on Sunday. The official closing will be given by senior hurling manager Brian Cody.
According to Patricia, “the day will be great fun for all the family and that the committee of six have put a huge amount of effort into ensuring that it runs smoothly.”
