Overseas volunteering information meeting

A special information meeting will be held in the Galway City Partnership offices for people interested in overseas volunteering.

The event, hosted by the international development organisation VSO, will be to discuss the experiences of volunteers who have returned from abroad and learn about the process of departure, training and placement.

VSO is currently recruiting experienced doctors including surgeons, midwives and paediatricians, as well as teachers and school principals to go abroad and fight the causes of poverty.

‘I would encourage those interested in volunteering overseas, and those with a commitment to making a sustainable impact, to come along to our event and learn more about our work in low-income and marginalised communities,’ said Malcolm Quigley, VSO director.

The information evening will be taking place on Sunday May 17 in the City Partnership offces of the Plaza in Headfort Road.

Those interested should can register for the event at [email protected].
