The Connemara International Marathon, one of the world’s most scenic events and its 15th year, takes place on Sunday with some 3,000 entrants. The event comprises half, full and ultra (39.3 mile ) marathons. Participants will enjoy some of Ireland’s most beautiful scenery including the Twelve Pins mountain range, Killary Lough, Leenane, the Maam Turk Mountains, Lough Inagh Valley, and Ma’am.
