Three Connacht players have been selected on the Irish women’s squad for the upcoming Six Nations.
In addition to the experienced Alison Miller and Claire Molloy, newcomer Sene Naoupu has also been named on the squad. Sene Naoupu, married to Connacht Rugby’s No 8 George Naoupu, is one of seven players who have been involved in the Ireland Sevens set-up.
The squad will play a warm-up game against Wales on Sunday in Ashbourne RFC at 1pm.
Ireland u-20s
Five Connacht players have been named in the Ireland u-20 squad, which is coached by Connacht’s Academy manager Nigel Carolan. The five are the experienced flanker Rory Maloney (Buccaneers ) who played last year, and Galwegians Ciaran Gaffney who played in the 2014 Junior World Championship, along with newcomers Conan O’Donnell (Sligo ), Stephen McVeigh (Buccaneers ), and Cian Romaine (Buccaneers ).
