An app has been created to steer tech-friendly tourists around the Wild Atlantic Way route which runs across Donegal, Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Kerry, and Cork.
Key features of the app include a list of ‘hidden gems’ along the route; exclusive information on 15 signature discovery points and 160 further discovery points; and constantly updated information on everything from local eateries to events. Produced by Fáilte Ireland, it is available for download from Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The new app has been welcomed by Labour Galway West TD Derek Nolan.
“The Wild Atlantic Way has exceeded all our expectations and is proving extremely popular with overseas tourists and domestic visitors alike,” he said. “Galway is reaping the benefits of it with many tourism operators reporting it has helped lift trade since it was introduced in April.”
