Participants from all over Ireland are expected to take part in the Skoda Tour de Conamara, which takes place on Saturday May 24.
The event will see participants cycle a 140 kilometre distance through Conemara.
A pre-cycle seminar on nutrition, training, and cycling in general, will be held at Skoda Galway’s dealership, Monaghan and Sons, on the Tuam Road tomorrow May 23.
From 5pm, participants will be able to register for the event and enjoy a ‘pasta party’ in the showroom, so cyclists can stock up on carbs ahead of the challenge.
Event organiser Padraic Quinn said they ‘‘are very happy with the level of interest in the Tour de Conamara this year; it is a record number of entries which proves the increasing popularity of the event. We are also thrilled that Monaghans have decided to host the pre tour event which will be convenient for participants travelling to Galway on the Friday.’’
