Galway Ladies consigned Fermanagh to the bottom of the table when they produced a whopping 6-22 to 0-5 victory in Sunday’s Tesco Home Grown NFL division two contest.
With their second win on the trot St Gabriel's Caitriona Cormican scored 1-02 in the opening seven minutes to set the tone for the remainder of the match.
Over the next 18 minutes Galway scored 3-04 to leave the northern girls chasing the game. Roisin Leonard scored 1-01, Barbara Hannon two points, and goals from Lorna Joyce and Annette Clarke, and a point from Aoibheann Daly, put Galway firmly in command.
Fermanagh's only reply was a point from Joanne Doonan as Galway closed the half with four unanswered points, two each from Annette Clarke and Barbara Hannon, to leave the half-time Fermanagh 0-03 Galway 4-10.
Galway continued the second half where they left off and a super move in the third minute saw Roisin Leonard's low shot come back off the post, but Lorna Joyce was on hand to put the ball over the bar. As the Galway management started to introduce subs, Corofin’s Una Carroll secured their next point.
Two frees from Roisin Leonard and more points from Clarke, Hannon and Joyce kept the scoreboard ticking over.
Fermanagh’s only answer was a point from Maura McDonald as the onslaught continued.
