Galway Arts Centre’s GAC(h) Duine music festival

GAC(h ) DUINE, the Galway Arts Centre’s first music festival, runs from this evening until Saturday at the centre on 47 Dominick Street.

The three day festival features indie, punk, folk, and electronic, including DJing from Nosician tonight and tomorrow.

The line up is, Dead Red Light, Noriana Kennedy, Red Eskimo (tonight, admission €7 ); Peter Delaney, Mikey and the Scallywags (tomorrow, €7 ); Dott, Oh Boland, Hunk, Laminator, Adultrock, Cave Ghost. (Saturday, €10 ).

These are BYOB events. Doors open from 8.30pm to 11.30pm. A ticket for all three nights costs €22.

There will also be the Hardcore Tea Party featuring punk and metal bands The Redneck Nuns, Vagrant, and Blackmail House on Saturday from 4pm to 6pm. This is a strictly no alcohol event. Tickets are €5.

Daily workshops are Sean nós singing with Batsheva Battu (today at 4.30pm ); guitar with Des Behan (tomorrow, 4.30pm ); and songwriting workshop with Mikey McCroy (Saturday, 2pm ). Tickets are €8, or €20 for the three classes.
