MONSTER FLICKS, gory horrors, B-movies, and cult films will be the order of the day at the first NUI Galway Film Society film festival from Monday April 1 to Wednesday 3.
Entitled Release the B’s, the festival will screen Irish and international films, including last year’s excellent Irish comedy/sci-fi/horror Grabbers.
The festival opens at 8pm on Monday in The Cellar Bar with a screening of Francis Ford Coppola’s Dementia 13, made in Ireland in 1963.
Tuesday will feature a daytime mystery screening, details of which will be revealed on www.facebook.com/NUIGFilmSoc closer to the date. At 8pm in Kelly’s Bar on Tuesday is the It Came From Galway Bay event, a screening of home-made B-movie shorts submitted by film makers from around Ireland. The festival closes on Wednesday with a screening of Grabbers.
The festival is open to the general public as well as students. All are welcome.
