THEIR MUSIC has been called “Riverdance for toddlers” and “grown up music for kids”. They are The Specks and they are coming to The Town Hall Theatre this Sunday at 12.30pm.
The Speks - Quince, Naymon, Tommo, Pete, Ed and Rafferty - are a trad band for children, whose debut album recently won a prestigious Parents’ Choice music award in the US.
In concert they perform nursery rhymes and sing-along songs set to acoustic Irish music while encouraging children to sing and dance along.
Newstalk’s Tom Dunne said: “If your little ones love fantastic, magical songs with an Irish twist then The Specks are the boys for you.”
The INTO publication In Touch said: “Educationally they encompass the all important areas of rhyme, rhythm and repetition - so frequently the missing links for children learning to read.”
The show is for children aged seven and under. Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie
