Greek political activist Giannis Koutras will address a public meeting in Galway tomorrow on the issue of the bank and EU/IMF bailouts.
Mr Koutras’s talk will be entitled The Human Cost of Bank Bailouts & IMF/EU deals and it will take place at 8pm in Richardson’s, Eyre Square. He will discuss to cutbacks and austerity measures being introduced in Greece in the wake of the bank bailouts and loans from the IMF/EU.
The meeting will also be addressed by Independent councillor Catherine Connolly, who will look at the human cost of the cutbacks in a Galway context, such as cuts to home help services and he proposed closure of the St Francis’ nursing home.
The meeting, organised by The Enough! Campaign, is one of a series of events being held around the country between July 6 and 16, the period the IMF will be in Dublin to oversee the progress of the austerity measures.
