IN OUR headlong rush to embrace technology, have was missed something...something that could affect our very soul?
This is the question artist Maeve Curtis will explore in her new solo exhibition I Wait Towards You, Pale With The Effort Of It, which opens on Friday November 5 in the Norman Villa Gallery, Lower Salthill. The guest speaker will be writer Mike McCormack.
The work at this exhibition is inspired by a belief among some people in the 19th century that each time a photograph was taken it removed something from our soul. Curtis investigates this anxiety using family snapshots, paint, and graphite.
