IT IS amazing to think of the wealth of musical talent that has come out of Tuam over the past 30 years from Blaze X, to The Saw Doctors, to The Ralphs.
The great music of this small north Galway town will be celebrated with a major gig in Monroe’s on Friday April 16 at 9pm. Taking to the stage on the night are singer-songwriters Noelie McDonnell and Padraig Stevens, pop-punk band The Ralphs, indie eccentric So Cow, as well as Stone Lakes, The Government, Overruled, and Chief TP.
Also playing will be two of the great Co Galway bands from the 1980s - Too Much For The Whiteman and All Cats Are Grey. Both bands feature singer-songwriter Mouse McHugh. Whiteman vinyls from the 1980s are still sought after today while All Cats Are Grey played support to New Order.
The music of many of these bands is featured on the Songs From The Broken Wheel triple CD, which was released just before Christmas.
Admission is €10. All proceeds from the night will go to local charities.
