LifeWave as a global healthcare company, based in Athenry, and employing over 120 people locally, recognises the benefits of exercise in people’s lives. Lifewave also recognises the beneficial role charities play in people’s lives in our communities.
Lifewave employees globally were encouraged to up their steps in a bid to be named the winning team in the LifeWave MOVE Challenge. This combined increased exercise for employees with an opportunity to help a local charity.
LifeWave’s Chief Operations Officer, Colman Dillon said that huge congratulations are extended to everyone in all of their sites globally for getting involved.
“Our walk for charity was an amazing success. Our Galway operations emerged victorious and their efforts means a donation of €8,500 will be made to the charity of their choosing – thanks to everyone who participated,” he said.
The successful Galway team decided that COPE Galway as a local Galway organisation working with individuals and families in its community, would be the deserving recipients. Their Domestic Abuse Service provides 24-hour refuge accommodation, a children’s support service and outreach support services throughout the county of Galway.
Mr Dillon said he was delighted to present a cheque for €8,500 to COPE Galway.
“Thank you to everyone in COPE for their role in the community and thanks to the Lifewave team in Athenry for supporting their incredible work,” he added.
LifeWave are already looking forward to next year’s challenge.
