The biggest cycling event in the west of Ireland will take place in Galway on Sunday May 24. The event organised by local heart charity Croí and sponsored by Corrib Oil, is expecting to attract more than 500 cyclists from all over Ireland.
There are two routes to choose from, both taking in the beautiful sights of Connemara. A shorter 29 mile route will see cyclists travelling from Galway city out through Moycullen and Oughterard, and finishing in Maam Cross.
For those opting for the longer 75 mile route the cycle continues around Lough Corrib through Corrundulla, Headford, and returning to Galway city.
The cycle has become an annual fundraising event for Croí, raising more than €60,000 each year. To enter the event, call Sarah-Jane on 091-544310, text ‘Cycle’ to 086-8193692 or log-on to www.croi.ie
