IT HAS been six years since Steve Hughes last brought his hard hitting, take no prisoners, stand up to Ireland, but he is finally coming back, and with Galway in his sights.
Hughes brings his new show, Are You Serious? to the Róisín Dubh on Friday May 8 at 8.30pm. It draws on the last five years of his life, during which the Australian recovered from a crippling breakdown and severe depression. From that bleakness has emerged a show which promises to be an hilarious ride through the dark night of the soul and an insightful interpretation of the insanity of the world today.
“His insights are spot on, his opinions are intelligent, and his jokes are top class," said The Guardian, while Chortle.co.uk called him “intelligent, provocative, profound, and topped off with good, solid gags. See him while it’s still legal."
Tickets are €16 from www.roisindubh.net; OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street; and the Róisín Dubh.
