Twenty-seven new projects have been selected for the second round of Galway 2020's Small Towns Big Ideas programme. The projects will be delivered by local community groups and artists, under the themes of language, landscape, and migration.
The 27 projects will share total funding of c€200,000 to deliver projects which will include art, photography, food, music, and exhibitions. This allocation brings to €500,000 the total investment by Galway 2020 in the Small Towns Big Ideas programme which, by the end of 2020 is expected to have delivered more than 70 projects across the city and county.
All 27 projects will now go into pre-production. The applications were subject to review by an expert panel consisting of external experts and internal Galway 2020 cultural producers.
"This is an exciting moment for Galway 2020 as we gear up towards the start of what will be a truly memorable year," said Liz Kelly, cultural producer, Galway 2020. "The calibre of projects is very high, and we look forward to working with artists and communities to bring these projects to life.”
