Gardai investigate spate of burglaries in city and county

Gardai are appealing for information following a series of burglaries in the city and county over the past week.

A shed at the side of a private home at Moyvilla, Oranmore, was broken into between 2pm on Thursday August 30 and 3pm on Saturday September 1. A Castelgarden ride-on lawnmower and a petrol hedge trimmer were taken from the shed.

Anyone who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in this area or who may be offered these items for sale is asked to contact Oranmore Garda Station at 091 388030.

Scoil Mhuire in Oranmore was burgled at some time between 1pm on Sunday September 2 and 8am on Monday. A Canon camera and other property was stolen from the premises. Anyone who witnessed anyone acting suspiciously around the school or who has been offered this camera for sale is asked to contact Oranmore Garda Station at 091 388030.

Gardai are appealing for information following a burglary at a house in Portarragh, Moycullen, between 10pm on Thursday August 30 and 1.30am on Friday August 31.

Anyone who witnessed any suspect people or vehicle in this area is asked to contact Salthill Garda Station at 091 514720.

A van parked at Newcastle Road, Galway, was broken into last month and an assortment of tools and sporting equipment was stolen from the vehicle.

This theft occurred between 12 midnight and 8am on Wednesday August 1.

Anyone who witnessed anyone interfering with this van, or who may be offered these items for sale, is asked to contact Galway Garda Station at 091 538000.
