GMIT hotel school to host open evening

The Hotel School at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT ) is holding an open evening next Tuesday, March 31, for school leavers and anyone interested in a career in the hospitality, retail, and tourism industry.

The open evening takes place in the institute’s Connemara Training Restaurant and Bar in the Dublin Road campus from 5.30pm to 8pm. Graduates of the school and colleagues who are currently managing hotels around the country will attend the event together with current students and staff.

The event will include a tour of the Hotel School’s facilities, its training restaurants and bar, kitchens, demonstration halls, and lecture theatres.

Cáit Noone, head of the GMIT Hotel School, says: “GMIT and Hotel School graduates are hosting this event to show school leavers, their parents, and those currently seeking jobs in the industry, that this school is the best place to start your career.
