He may be busy making his list and checking it twice but this Saturday, November 30, Santa Claus and his helpers make their way from the North Pole all the way to Athlone Towncentre.
Santa plans to land his reindeer in a top secret location along Lough Ree and will be escorted to the centre courtesy of the Athlone Sub Aqua team for his arrival parade. As part of the arrival parade Santa will be joined by his elves and many other festive characters before being whisked to his grotto aboard the polar express train.
Once again Athlone Towncentre is delighted to announce that visits to Santa’s grotto are completely free. Every child visiting Santa’s grotto also receives a free goodie bag which includes a colouring book and pencils, a Santa wish list door hanger, a colour-me-in Christmas bauble, and a sweet treat together with the all-important report card for parents to leave out for Santa on Christmas Eve!
To celebrate Santa’s arrival there will also be free face painting and balloon modelling for families to enjoy on Saturday December 30. As part of the festivities, Athlone Towncentre is looking for one family to perform the official meet and greet with Santa as he arrives to the centre and to be first in the queue for his grotto as well as enjoying a delicious lunch compliments of Harvest Cafe.
To be in with a chance to be part of Santa’s official welcoming committee, visit Athlone Towncentre’s Facebook page for full competition details.
The arrival of Santa sees the beginning of Athlone Towncentre’s Christmas programme which will include extended opening hours, Christmas market, and a Christmas customer night on Thursday December 12 hosted by renowned stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick.
