Use internet tools to develop your business

Leading Irish internet strategist, Aileen O’ Toole will address businesses from Athlone and the Midlands at a business information seminar hosted by Athlone.ie and Westmeath County Enterprise Board taking place in The Sheraton Athlone Hotel on Tuesday June 21 from 12.45pm to 5.30pm.

Companies in Ireland should make better use of the internet to improve their competitiveness, reduce their costs, and ultimately survive the recession, according to quarterly bulletin State of the Net produced by AMAS in association with the Irish Internet Association and edited by Aileen O’ Toole, key note speaker at the forthcoming seminar.

“Social media marketing campaigns can be delivered and generate real results and they don’t require big budgets. In fact, they needn’t have an advertising budget at all,” says Aileen.

“Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter are among the top 10 websites used by Irish people and are very powerful in developing relationships and building awareness with particular audiences.”

Managing director of AMAS and co-founder of the Sunday Business Post, Aileen O’Toole, is an entrepreneur who devises internet strategies for corporate and government clients. Aileen will outline many useful ways businesses can use the internet to drive sales, improve customer service, maximise marketing budgets, and cut operational costs.

Other guest speakers include John Teeling, CEO Cooley Distillery, who was recently awarded ambassador of the year at the Midlandsireland.ie Gateway to Innovation and Excellence Awards; Joan Mulvihill, CEO of The Irish Internet Association (IIA ); Dave Feenan, business development manager - Ireland, Swiss Post Solutions; Ronan O’Brien, CEO, Zatori Results; and Tom Tierney, CEO, Moonswing Ltd, Athlone-based software development company. After the seminar, attendees will have the opportunity to network with other businesses and exhibitors and ask further questions of the speakers.
